Pre-construction site, dirt and gravel road with no gutters before upgrade

Project Summary

CWC delivered the pre-construction services for the pavement and stormwater upgrade of the Toronto Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Blackalls Park, NSW, through a Design and Construct opportunity with Pensar Water.

The project involved significant collaboration with Pensar Water (CWC direct client) and Hunter Water (head client) to work through numerous pavement and stormwater management options to satisfy site functionality needs, geometric requirements and updated stormwater management requirements. The main project constraint included integration of a design that worked in with existing levels, ensuring existing site infrastructure could be easily tied into and that staging and construction processes remained flexible, all within the allocated budget.

CWC worked closely with our structural design partner Bridge Knowledge Pty Ltd to develop a crane pad design which included piled footings. Careful consideration was required during this stage to ensure minimal impact to existing services and site features.

CWC worked closely with Hunter Water, Pensar Water and Veolia operations teams throughout the development of the design to ensure it fit operational purposes.
